Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses pressure point massage on the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body.

It is estimated that about 75% of disease is stress related. Any disturbance to the body’s natural balance is to some degree a type of stress, and the body responds by adjusting its internal processes which can manifest as physical or emotional symptoms.

Through its effects on the nervous system and hormonal pathways, reflexology induces a state of deep relaxation, counteracting the negative effects of stress responses on the organs and tissues of the body, allowing them to function optimally and return naturally to balance.

Finger or thumb pressure is applied  to specific points on the hands and feet. These points are called reflexes and they reflect, or mirror, the organs and structures of the body as well as a person's emotional health. In a way, the hands and feet are 'mini maps' of the body that can be used to encourage holistic healing.

Reflexology can also improve circulation and lymph flow. This helps the elimination of toxins from the body. Through cleansing the body of impurities, and revitalising energy, the body is encouraged to naturally restore its own health. Deep relaxation allows us to reconnect and restore the delicate balance between our mind, body and emotions.

While each person will respond differently to reflexology, they generally sense feelings of well-being, reduced tension, relaxation, improved mood and/or improved sleep. Other benefits include: improved circulation, increased energy levels, and pain relief. Reflexology is particularly beneficial to those with hormonal imbalances and digestive issues.
